Safety Evaluation Report: Related to the License Renewal of the Browns Ferry Nuclear Plant, Units 1,2, and 3: Supplement 1

This document is a supplemental safety evaluation report (SSER) on the application for license renewal for the Browns Ferry Nuclear Plant (BFN), as filed by Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA or the applicant). By letter dated December 31, 2003, TVA submitted its application to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC or the Commission) for renewal of the BFN operating licenses for an additional 20 years. The NRC staff (the staff) issued a safety evaluation report (SER), dated January 12, 2006, which summarizes the results of its safety review of the renewal application for compliance with the requirements of Title 10, Part 54, of the Code of Federal Regulations, (10 CFR Part 54), “Requirements for Renewal of Operating Licenses for Nuclear Power Plants.” Read more
