Termika boards

    Termika boards

Termika sealing sheets are made in the form of a laminate composed of several layers of mica reinforced with a special binder of high thermal resistance. A special golden color, magnesium phlogopite mica is used for the production of the sheets. This raw material meets high requirements in terms of mechanical strength, thermal stability and chemical resistance. In order to increase the strength parameters, mica sheets are impregnated and reinforced with quartz fiber or heat-resistant steel spacers.

    Properties and parameters

Mica is a form of aluminosilicate with a soft layered structure and significantly good heat resistance. Flexible mica sheets retain the basic properties of crystalline mica. Thanks to this, mica-based seals have dielectric and anti-adhesive properties, are resistant to aging, temperature and chemical influences. Mica sheets remain flexible and sealability for a long time and do not degrade even under the influence of strong oxidants and temperatures exceeding 900°C. Among the most important advantages of this material, it should be emphasized:

    • High operating temperature and resistance to thermal shocks.
    • Chemical resistance in the full range of 0-14 pH but with the exception of freons and sulfuric acid solutions.
    • Good the stress relaxation and high elastic recovery.
    • Resistant to aging, oxidation, ozone and UV radiation.
    • Excellent dielectric properties, strength up to 15 kV/mm.
    • Fire safety, Euroclass A1 and nonflammability according to EN13501 standard.

    Types of sheets

Termika R – this is a gasket sheet in the form of a laminate reinforced with a steel spacer with thicknesses from 1,5 to 5 mm. A spacer made of special austenitic 316L steel facilitates cutting finished gaskets with large diameters with a CNC plotter and their subsequent assembly. Termika R gaskets can also be produced by the

    stamping technique.

Termika S – it is a flexible sheet of mica reinforced with a binder in the form of a 10% siloxane addition. The material with thicknesses ranging from 0,5 to 3 mm can be used both for cutting gaskets and for electrical insulation.

Termika SWG – it is a mica tape reinforced with quartz fibers, designed for the production of SWG spiral gaskets. The thickness of the tape is 0,5 mm, the width ranges from 5,5 to 8 mm, and the roll length is 50 m.

    Application areas

Termika is material specially designed for the production of high temperature seals, SWG spiral gaskets and kammprofile gaskets. Termika sheets and tapes are an ideal component for the production of seals with high requirements and high reliability. Moreover, it is a material that is easy to use and formed, and does not pose any particular hazards or risk of corrosion phenomena.
