Mineral millboard

Mineral millboard is a modern insulating material based on various types of mineral fibers and fillers. Isoltek sheets are calendered from a properly selected mixture containing: basalt fibers, wollastonite, mineral wool, calcium silicate, silica and ceramic fibers. Mineral cardboard sheets are characterised by good thermal resistance and low thermal conductivity. In addition, Isoltek sheets have appropriate mechanical properties, which facilitates their montage and removal as well as cutting complex shapes and precise edges.

    Properties and advantages

Mineral sheets are easy and safe to use. Finished elements, washers and gaskets can be cut using typical machines and tools for metal or wood. The most important advantages of Isoltek sheets include:

    • Fire safety – Euroclass A1 and incombustibility according to the EN13501 standard.
    • Easy to install, they can be applied and shaped when wet, they retain their full strength after drying.
    • Wide range of operating temperatures and high resistance to thermal shocks.
    • Good insulating properties as well as resistance to electric arc.
    • High compressibility and elastic recovery of 40 / 20% respectively.

    Types of Isoltek sheets

Mineral millboard can be produced in various colours and variants. Additionally, it can be covered with a hydrophobic layer, which is often required in induction furnaces or electrical appliances. Due to the quality requirements and operating temperatures, Isoltek sheets are in three basic types:

Isoltek 800 – these sheets are in white or grey colour for lower temperatures. The sheets are made of economical mineral

wool with the addition of basalt fibers and mineral fillers.

Isoltek 1000 – universal mineral sheets in beige or grey colour. The sheets are made from a mixture of mineral fibers based on wollastonite and calcium silicate with appropriate mechanical strength and thermal resistance at the level of 1000°C. This type of millboard is intended for the needs of workshops producing gaskets and elements with precise shapes. These sheets do not dust and can be easily cut without causing excessive wear of machines and tools. This material combines the low cost of the material with the ease of preparation and assembly of the cut elements.

Isoltek 1200 – mineral sheets in pink colour, it is made of alumina-silicates and ceramic fiber. Due to high thermal resistance and the ability to assume the desired shape when wetted, it is the material most often used in metallurgical processes and foundry.

    Areas of application

Isoltek is an economical, asbestos-free insulation material with a wide range of applications in many industries. Primarily, Isoltek sheets are used as a sealing and insulating material. The main areas of application are: metallurgy, foundry, power engineering, machine and cement industry, construction and sanitary ceramics plants, production of glass, porcelain and ceramic products.
